Abstract
Introduction: Metabolic adaptations are necessary during pregnancy for the growth and development of the fetus, and also to meet the altered demands of the mother. Pregnancy has been described as a transient excursion into the metabolic syndrome and as a window to women's health. Aims and Objectives: To understand the prevalence of GDM in patients attending antenatal clinic of our hospital and to focus on the modification of risk factors in this rural and sub urban population. So that, we can prevent the maternal and fetal complications of GDM at an early stage.
