Abstract
Background: There has been increasing evidence from animal and human studies to suggest that Vitamin D deficiency may be an important risk factor in the pathogenesis of CAD. Given the gravity of the problem posed by CAD, it is imperative to conduct an extensive research to determine the novel risk factors which can be potential therapeutic targets for the treatment and prevention of the disease.
