    Abstract

    Bowel resection and anastomosis are commonly performed surgeries in general surgery for various causes like gangrene bowel, perforation, carcinomas. Bowel anastomosis can be done by hand sewen technique or using staplers.There are various factors that affect anastomosis healing are poor nutritional status,diabetes mellitus,anemia,smoking etc. most common complications of bowel anastomosis are anastomotic leak, bleeding, stricture, obstruction The main aim of the study is 1.To study the outcome of anastomosis performed through hand-sewn Versus stapler. 2. To study the outcome of anastomosis done in elective surgeries versus Emergency surgeries. 3. To study various factors affecting the outcome of bowel anastomosis.
