A CLINICAL STUDY OF FACTORS AFFECTING PROGNOSIS IN DUODENALULCER PERFORATION CASES

Abstract
The causes of these perforations can be many. The most common cause being perforation of a pre-existing peptic ulcer, infection with H pylori, chronic use of NSAIDS, traumatic, malignancies etc. In treatment of peptic ulcer, incidence of elective surgery tended to decrease due to eradication of Helicobacter pylori during the recent three decades whereas incidenceof emergency surgical interventions for complications of the disease did not decrease .
