Abstract
Chronic and excessive alcohol ingestion is one of the major causes of liver disease in the industrialized nations.Alcoholic Liver Disease(ALD) is one of the leading social problem arising in the young individuals of India. It is frequently associated with haematological & biochemical abnormalities and causes complications including bleeding and infection which can increase morbidity and mortality rate. Dietary deficiencies, bleeding, alcoholism and abnormalities in hepatic synthesis or proteins used for blood formation or coagulation add to the problem of liver disease.
