Abstract
According to many experts, the intra-arterial method is the most precise way to measure blood pressure. Radial artery cannulation, carried out percutaneously, is a common procedure in the operating room and the intensive care unit. Methods: Prospective, randomized study was performed between June 4th 2022 to December 20th 2022 at Department of Anesthesiology, Mamata Academy of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad. 100 patients were included in the trial, with 50 individuals assigned to each group (Group 1 and 2). Due to the fact that this is a single study the number of participants was kept small. Results: According to our study modified short axis method has higher first time success rate than long axis view with significant p value 0.317. Conclusion: According to the findings of our prospective, randomised, comparative study of USG-guided radial artery cannulation using the modified short axis technique versus the long axis technique, the modified SA-OOP technique's quicker ultrasonic location time and cannulation time. Modified short axis has a higher rate of success on the first trial and lower rate of complications.
