    A PROSPECTIVE STUDY TO EVALUATE THE CTINICAL OUTCOME OF EXTERNAL BEAM CHEMORADIATION WITH OR WITHOUT PELVIC NODAL BOOST FOLLOWED BY BRACHYTHERAPY IN FIGO IIIC1 CANCER CERVIX PATIENT

    Abstract

    Carcinoma cervix is one of the major contributors of cancer related morbidity & mortality in women worldwide with about 5,69,847 (3.2%) newly diagnosed cases and 3,11,365(3.3%) deaths in the year 2018 as per GLOBOCAN 2018. It is the 4th most common malignancy, worldwide in incidence as per GLOBOCAN ’18 result. Aims: To compare loco regional control and distant metastasis in patient with carcinoma cervix who have undergone concurrent chemoradiation with or without involved pelvic nodal boost. Materials and Methods: The present study was a Prospective clinical study. This Study was conducted from January 2020–June 2021 at Department of Radiotherapy, Medical college Hospital, Kolkata. Result: In group ARM-A, 30 (88.2%) patients had CR in Lymph node response, 1 (2.9%) patients had PD in Lymph node response, 1 (2.9%) patients had PR in Lymph node response and 2 (5.9%) patients had SD in Lymph node response. Conclusion: In our study, Age was not significant difference in two groups so age was matched in this study. Lymph Node Status was not significantly associated with two groups and according to Lymph node response, stable disease and partial response were more in ARM-B compared to ARM-A which was statistically significant.
