    Abstract

Heart rate variability (HRV) is a metric that quantifies the fluctuations in heart rate (HR) from one beat to the next, as measured using electrocardiography. It is widely regarded as a practical and non-invasive indicator of autonomic nervous system (ANS) function. Researchers have recorded abnormalities in the autonomic nervous system (ANS) and the consequent reduction in heart rate variability (HRV) in several psychiatric diseases. However, there is a significant deficiency in Indian literature when it comes to comparative examinations of these autonomic nervous system (ANS) and heart rate variability (HRV) anomalies in relation to mental health disorders.
