Abstract
A surgeon's legacy is the scar he leaves behind; it's a saying we're all familiar with. The urge to improve one's appearance is one thing that has not altered despite the passage of time. Surgeons have been trying to create scar less wounds since the beginning of time. Material and Methods: Research will be conducted between April 2021 and March 2022 at the Department of General Surgery at Kakatiya Medical College Warangal to evaluate the efficacy of Cyanoacrylate glue compared to the commonly used subcuticular sutures for closing thyroidectomy wounds. Used substances include cyanoacrylate adhesive and Prolene for subcuticular suturing. Results: High-volume and community hospitals around the US perform thyroidectomy. The smallest video-assisted thyroidectomy incision is 15 mm, compared to the Kocher incision's 10 cm. This is done to improve cosmetic results and reduce post-op problems. Our study focused on this process since it is well-defined and standardized. Conclusion: The study has a rather small sample size of 40 people, so there is a good likelihood that there will be sampling errors. Nonetheless, there is considerable variation between surgeons in terms of surgical approach, precision, and the length of a treatment. Therefore, it is suggested that more extensive research be conducted by many organizations over an extended period of time.
