Material and methods- This retrospective study was done in blood bank of M.Y. Hospital, Indore and data was collected with the help of records from 1st April 2019 to 31st March 2021. Reasons for discarding blood and blood components was observed and analyzed. Results- A total 1234(7.19%) whole blood bags were discarded. A total 3081 blood components were discarded. The most common blood component discarded were platelets 2028(8.6%) followed by RCC 833(1.9%)and FFP 220(1.1%).
