Abstract
Hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM) is a challenging condition to manage during anesthesia, especially when the patient presents with preoperative electrocardiogram (ECG) changes. We present a case of a 65-year-old male with HOCM and preoperative ECG changes who underwent open cholecystectomy under segmental spinal anesthesia with 0.5% isobaric ropivacaine. The patient's hemodynamic parameters were closely monitored during the procedure, and his recovery was uneventful. This case report highlights the successful anesthetic management of a patient with HOCM and preoperative ECG changes and emphasizes the importance of careful patient selection, monitoring, and management during anesthesia
