Abstract
Drug related problems (DRP) may debase the healthy life, leading to hospitalization. They will raise overall health expenditure and even increase the risk of morbidity and mortality. DRPs, constituting health related safety issues with respect to pharmacological treatment, result in deterioration of patient’s condition. Various researches evidencing 50% of the drug related hospital admissions to be avoidable, facilitates considerable interest in identification and assessment of risk factors involved. The objective of the present study is to identify the risk factors resulting in drug related hospitalizations and assess them with respect to the type of drug related problem.
