    Abstract

Modified Electroconvulsive therapy has evolved as a safe, pleasant and effective non pharmacological therapy in schizophrenia and bipolar disorders due to anaesthetic management[1]. The goals of anaesthesia are sedation, amnesia, and muscle relaxation during seizures and cardiorespiratory monitoring. Cardiovascular responses to electro convulsive therapy included an initial parasympathetic surge causing bradycardia followed by sympathetic stimulation leading to tachycardia and hypertension
