Abstract
Substantial differences in socioeconomic and cultural situations in different countries cause various patterns of poisoning with different poisonous agents. Aim:To analyse the outcome and prognosis in patients admitted with acute poisoning in tertiary level intensive care unit of GMC, Srinagar. Methods: Prospective observational study was conducted in the Department of Anaesthesiology, critical care, pain and palliative medicine, GMC Srinagar, a tertiary care centre over a period of 17 months. After getting clearance from IEC, the data was collected from the patients and his/her family members using a semi structured questionnaire. A total of 150 poisoning cases were received during the study period.
