    Abstract

The axillary brachial plexus block is a frequently used regional anaesthetic technique for procedures on the elbow, forearm, and hands. This technique avoids the adverse effects of the other brachial plexus block techniques such as cervical sympathetic nerve blockade, pneumothorax and diaphragmatic paresis. This study compared the effectiveness of local anaesthetics with fentanyl and buprenorphine for ultrasound-guided brachial plexus block using an axillary approach.
