Abstract
Craniopharyngioma is a common intracranial tumour with bimodal presentation. It is more commonly seen in pediatric age group and second peak is seen in adult population (above 40). It developes from outpouching of stomadeum during embryogenesis, which involutes with time. Persistence of this outpouching leads to proliferation of cells with various deleterious effects on the nearby brain structures and also through hormonal imbalance on all over body. Many such tumours increase to gigantic proportions before the patient notices symptoms. The large sized tumours pose unique challenges during the surgery and in the post operative periods. Here in this article , we present a series of 6 such cases with intraoperative difficulties and a meta analysis of few other cases.
