    Abstract

The treatment of acne scars with microneedling holds promise, although it is yet unclear how platelet-rich plasma (PRP) paired with microneedling will perform. For patients with acne scars, we conducted an open uncontrolled study, to examine the effectiveness and safety of microneedling treatment with PRP. The aim of this study was to assess the efficacy of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) for treatment of acne scars when combined with micro needling. Thirty patients, both sexes, 18-45 years old, were enrolled in the study from June 2021 to May 2022. Individuals with atrophic acne scars and those who consented to follow-up photography were included. Those who were pregnant, taking oral steroids, had bleeding disorders, or had any active skin infections were excluded from participating in this study. According to our findings, following six PRP sessions, 42.5% of the 40 participants demonstrated a discernible improvement in the grading of their acne scars. 35 percent of the patients, or 14 out of 35, showed some improvement, whereas 7.5% showed no change. Following the procedure, about 52.5% of patients assessed their satisfaction as "good," and 27.5% rated it as "very excellent."The patients' mean DLQI increased from 22.9 before therapy to 8.9 after treatment, an improvement of 61.13%. There were no significant adverse effects. As a result, it has been determined that this approach can significantly improve acne scarring when used in conjunction with other therapies.
