Abstract
Epithelial ovarian tumors (EOT) constitute over 90% of all the ovarian cancers. Serous ovarian carcinomas (SOC) are most deadly and most prevalent type of ovarian tumour at advanced age. Mutations or deletions in p53 gene are most common in ovarian carcinoma. The treatment of patients with tubo-ovarian high-grade serous carcinoma (HGSC) is mainly based on p53 which is a important diagnostic marker. This Immunohistochemistry (IHC) marker is useful in the differential diagnosis of serous ovarian carcinomas. This study aims to evaluate the expression of p53 by IHC in the different histological types and grades of epithelial ovarian tumors.
