    Abstract

Total intravenous anaesthesia (TIVA) is a modified form of general anaesthesia where induction as well as maintenance of anaesthesia is done with intravenous agents alone. TIVA is administered as a combination of hypnotic and analgesic drugs without administration of any inhalation agents. The induction of intravenous anaesthetic should be sufficient to ensure that the patient loses consciousness but not to cause undesirable side effects. Primary aim of our study was to compare the Haemodynamic responses intra operatively in patients receiving Propofol-Ketamine and Propofol -Fentanyl in short surgical procedures and secondary outcome was to assess spontaneous eye opening and postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) in these patients
