Abstract
Background : NSTI is an uncommon but life- threatening disease with a high mortality rate, ranging from 6 to 76% despite advances in modern medical care . Delays in diagnosis and debridement associated with increased mortality . Lack of specific clinical features and characteristics in the initial stages of the disease may be the main reason for the failure of early diagnosis . Anaerobic environment and vascular thrombosis in the affected area accelerate bacteria proliferation and through haematogenous spread, a distant infection may occur .
