Abstract
Background Congenital heart defects (CHDs) are structural abnormalities in the heart present at birth, representing a major cause of morbidity and mortality in infants. Maternal diabetes has been implicated as a significant risk factor for CHDs. This study aims to determine the prevalence of CHDs in infants born to diabetic mothers and to identify the types of defects most commonly observed in this population.
