Abstract
Paraquat poisoning is characterized by acute lung injury, pulmonary fibrosis, respiratory failure, acute kidney injury and multi-organ failure, resulting in a high rate of mortality and morbidity. Several prognostic markers have been found to have prognostic significance in the evaluation of PQ (Paraquat Poisoning) poisoning at present, such as plasma PQ concentration, arterial lactate level, severity scoring system and arterial blood gas analysis and C-reactive protein is an acute phase reactant and its level is positively correlated with the degree of inflammation during the early course of illness. Due to similar inflammatory response in PQ poisoning CBC may also be used as prognostic indicator in patient with PQ poisoning
