    Abstract

Thyroid disorder is most frequently encountered endocrine disorder in India. In recent years, the incidence of thyroid disorders, including thyroid malignancy, has increased rapidly because of more awareness amongst the population about the disorder and advanced diagnostic tools.Quality of life post thyroidectomy depends on the occurrence of complication post-operative e.g., Injury to Recurrent laryngeal nerve during surgery may have significant effect on quality of voice, accidental removal of all four parathyroid glands during total thyroidectomy may make the patient dependent on life-long calcium supplementation.
