Abstract

Carcinoma gallbladder is a highly malignant cancer which usually unfortunately gets diagnosed in late stages. Carcinoma gallbladder is a rare cancer but surprisingly the incidence of carcinoma gall bladder is high in Assam and other north eastern states. Gallstones and inflammation are the most common risk factors of carcinoma gallbladder. Dyslipidaemia is a known risk factor for the development of gallstone disease. This study was undertaken with the aim to determine the serum lipid levels in diagnosed cases of carcinoma of gall bladder and to compare serum lipid profile of patients with carcinoma of gall bladder with that of controls
