Abstract
Hernia is an abnormal protrusion of whole or part of a viscus or tissue through normal or abnormal opening in the walls of its containing cavity (1). Inguinal hernia repair is one of the most common procedures in general surgical practices, and different types of repair have been described. In 1889, Bassini came up with the idea of "triple layer" tissue repair for inguinal hernias, which was associated with recurrence.
