    Abstract

The aim of present study is to assess the role of DCE-MRI in characterizing the liver lesions. Patient with strong clinical suspicion of focal liver lesion and those diagnosed by ultrasonography or multiphasic contrast enhanced CT underwent Dynamic contrast enhanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging evaluation of abdomen. Result:On MDCT, 96% Lesions were detected out of which 48% were benign and 40% diagnosed as malignant. 41 % cases had cirrhotic liver which was diagnosed on MRI. 71 % of the lesions were solid while only 29 % were cystic. 50 lesions were diagnosed as benign on MRI, while 44.5 being malignant. Conclusion:Patients who were referred to our department with strong clinical suspicion of focal liver lesion and those diagnosed by ultrasonography or multiphasic contrast enhanced CT underwent DCE - Magnetic Resonance Imaging evaluation of abdomen. In our study, the majority of patients were males constituting 56 % of cases. 90% of the total lesions were identified initially by USG . 41 % of focal liver lesions present were identified as benign in ultrasonography examination. 96% of the total lesions were picked up by MDCT.48 % of focal liver lesions present were identified as benign in MDCT examination.
