Abstract
Pheochromocytoma is a rare neuroendocrine tumour caused by chromaffin cells in the adrenal medulla. Case Report: A 16-year-old male with a BMI of 16.94kg/m2 has been diagnosed with bilateral pheochromocytoma and diabetes mellitus, and is currently on antihypertensives and insulin. On examination at rest, he was afebrile and had tachycardia of 124 beats/min. Systemic examination revealed no significant abnormalities, and plasma free metanephrine was 3892.3mcg/ml. Chest radiogram showed no significant abnormalities, and electrocardiogram revealed sinus tachycardia with left ventricular hypertrophy. 2D Echocardiogram showed generalised LV hypokinesia with LVEF20%, mild MR, evidence of RV dysfunction with severe TR, and moderate pulmonary hypertension
